Steve Nice was Sr. Director, Alternative/AAA Promotion for Capitol Records 8 1/2 years, where he worked with bands like Radiohead, Beastie Boys, Foo Fighters and Coldplay. He then joined New West Records, where he spearheaded AAA and Alternative promotion campaigns for Ben Lee, The Drive- By Truckers and John Hiatt. From 2005-2009 he joined indie rock label Dangerbird Records as a consultant overseeing all Radio Promotion and Licensing, including the Silversun Pickups song, "Panic Switch" which topped the Billboard Alternative Radio Chart, a first in 11 years for an independent artist.
Over the span of his 20 year career in the music industry, Steve has been a radio consultant for many record labels, including Capitol Records, Republic Records, Sub Pop Records, RCA Records, Atlantic Records, Barsuk Records and Vagrant Records. Working with such artists as Ed Sheeran, Vance Joy, Fun, Elle King and The Arcade Fire. Steve has placed music in several films, including the second installment in the hit “Twilight” saga, “New Moon” and television shows, including ABC’s hit drama, "Grey's Anatomy", the CW’s “Gossip Girl,” CBS’s “CSI NY", "How I Met Your Mother" and "Vampire Diaries" He has also placed music in commercials for major brands like Google, Apple and Chevy, and in video games such as Guitar Hero and Rock Band.
Through his company, Nice Management and Consulting, Steve manages Nettwerk Records recording artist Scars on 45 and acclaimed NYC band Goldspot which is the brainchild Siddhartha Khosla. Siddhartha has rapidly become a successful Film and TV Composer. He is currently the composer of the new hit Lionsgate TV drama "The Royals" and the new FOX Comedy "Grandfathered" starring John Stamos. His film credits include soon to be released indie films "Liv" and "Basmati Blues".
